Re/Construct: Drawing, on the Natural Environment with Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck and The Gardening Drawing Club

This session is suitable for children aged 5+ and families

Join Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck and The Gardening Drawing Club on a journey through the landscape...

Our relationship with the natural world has changed over recent decades. This creative and horticultural workshop joyfully combines drawing, planting and collage. It will encourage you to find inspiration in nature and reconnect to the environment.

You'll begin with a walk in Henry Moore's gardens, where the artist and his wife worked and shaped the landscape. Here you'll be able to talk about how we can be inspired by different sensory experiences in the environment.

Then on to the Kitchen Garden for the first drawing session, before heading indoors to get your hands in the soil! You'll plant your own organic radish and chard seeds. Feel the different sizes and textures of seed and soil. You'll continue to make art, using collage to layer textures with second-hand papers. Bind your artwork into mini booklets to take away (along with your plants).
