Family Workshop: Woodcarving

Alison Smith

In light of the current Government advice about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Henry Moore Institute will be closed from 5pm on Tuesday 17 March until further notice.

We will attempt to reschedule our events where this is possible. Find out more.

Paloma Varga Weisz was classically trained in woodcarving in Bavaria, and uses this ancient technique to create her most of her sculptures.

Take inspiration from the exhibition, then learn to use specialist tools to create your own relief wood carving with artist Jason Turpin Thomson.

Places at ‘carving stations’ are very limited, so we have created ‘carver’ tickets and ‘supervisor’ tickets, for parents or guardians who wish to accompany and assist a child or young person.

Booking

Due to our current closure, all of our events are postponed until further notice. We will attempt to reschedule whenever it is possible to do so. Thank you for your understanding.
