Hear me with your whole body: The Poetics of Lucia Nogueira

Programmed alongside our exhibition Lucia Nogueira, Tanya Barson (Chief Curator, MACBA) will be discussing the work of the Brazilian-born artist who unintentionally settled in London in 1975.

Lucia Nogueira (1950-98) was recognised as an intelligent and instinctive maker of meaning through objects. Her exhibition presents work from the Leeds Sculpture Collections, including drawings in ink and watercolour that range from inscrutable abstractions to popular fictional characters, alongside a number of sculptural loans.

This event is free of charge and open to all, but booking is advised. For more information please contact Kirstie Gregory, our Research Coordinator.
