Academic Open Day 2018
- Henry Moore Institute
- Friday, 19 October 2018
- 2 - 5pm at the Institute
Each year we open our doors to celebrate the new academic year with behind the scenes tours for the higher education community.
The Institute's annual Academic Open Day will include tours of our current exhibition, Senga Nengudi, a vital figure in avant-garde scenes of Los Angeles and New York in the late 1960s and 1970s, an introduction to our wonderful Library which has over 27,000 books, including artists’ books and rare, out of print publications, and an advance insight into our forthcoming events programme.
If you are a tutor or a student with an interest in sculpture, this is the ideal introduction to the Institute and an opportunity to discuss with our staff how our resources and free events can enhance your work. In addition information will be available about our paid internship opportunities and even a free Henry Moore Institute exhibition catalogue for everyone attending.
The event will begin at 2pm with a full schedule of talks and tours from Henry Moore Institute curatorial staff.
The day will conclude at 6pm with a guest lecture by Britta Peters (Urbane Künst Ruhr and former curator of Sculpture Projects Münster), 'On Public Sculpture Projects'.
This event is free of charge and open to all. For more information and to book a place for yourself or a group, please contact Kirstie Gregory, our Research Coordinator.
