Workshop Wednesdays: Stones and Bones Creatures
Wednesday, 31 May 2017
12 - 4pm
Join us this half term for a creative, family friendly workshop inspired by Henry Moore. Our theme this May is 'found objects'.
For this Workshop Wednesday we will be looking at found objects - such as pebbles, feathers and shells - and using them to create our own art. Taking our lead from Henry Moore's use of flints, pebbles, shells and bones as the inspiration and starting point for many maquettes and sculpture, we will be exploring how to include found objects in clay projects. Come along and make your own clay creature incorporating something from the natural world. Or make your own clay vessel with a natural imprint pattern. Our workshop leaders will guide your children through Moore's process and help them to create their own clay models based around natural objects.
We will also be making some special pieces of work to celebrate the Henry Moore Foundation's 40th Anniversary.
Suitable for all ages. Entry included in your admission ticket.
Drop-in from 12 - 4pm, no booking necessary.
