Ramblers and walking groups

As part of our group programme, we can offer an afternoon tour of the Studios & Gardens designed to compliment a morning walk along the footpaths that surround our estate.

Our location in the Hertfordshire countryside is very convenient for a range of walks to meet all levels of experience or fitness. We are situated on the Hertfordshire Way, approximately 5 miles outside Bishop’s Stortford and the surrounding area is very picturesque, with gentle hills and beautiful woodlands on our doorstep.

Your group can meet at our village pub, The Hoops Inn, before enjoying a morning walk in the local area. We have a selection of routes that we can suggest, or you're free to plan your own.

Return to The Hoops for a home-cooked lunch before meeting one of our friendly, knowledgeable guides for a tour of Henry Moore's studios and the sculpture gardens. Your visit in 2019 will include our new exhibition Henry Moore Drawings: The Art of Seeing. Including over 150 works throughout his career, it will be the largest exhibition devoted entirely to Moore’s drawings in 40 years. Although Henry Moore is arguably best known as a sculptor, he was an exceptionally talented and prolific draughtsman, producing a body of nearly 7,500 drawings over seven decades. From his famous Shelter Drawings and Sheep Sketchbook to his textile designs, book covers, portaits and sculpture studies, this new exhibition will show your group a new and colourful side to Moore and his work.
