Back to Henry Moore Institute

Research library and archives

In response to the government’s current Covid-19 guidelines, the Henry Moore Institute will be closed until further notice.

As long as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, we will reopen our Galleries, Research Library and Archive of Sculptors’ Papers for our next exhibition, Portable Sculpture, from 5 February.

Our Sculpture Research Library and Archive of Sculptors' Papers provide a unique resource for the study of sculpture.

Sculpture Research Library

The extensive library collections at the Henry Moore Institute cover sculpture internationally, with a particularly strong focus on British artists.

Guided tours of the library can be arranged to introduce our resources and facilities to interested groups. A minimum of seven days advance notice is required and a maximum of twelve people can attend a library tour. Please contact the Librarian to arrange a convenient date to bring a group.

Archive of Sculptors' Papers

The working lives of hundreds of sculptors are captured in our rich and fascinating collections of photographs, letters, drawings and sketchbooks.

The archive is open by prior appointment only.

As space is limited and the archive is often busy, it is advisable to get in touch at least four weeks' prior to your preferred date to visit. Please contact the Archivist to discuss making an appointment.
