The Henry Moore Institute is now open.
Our Sculpture Research Library and Archive of Sculptors' Papers provide a unique resource for the study of sculpture.
The extensive library collections at the Henry Moore Institute cover sculpture internationally, with a particularly strong focus on British artists.
You can browse our holdings of books, journals and ephemera in our beautifully designed reading rooms, or view recordings of lectures and gallery events in our audio-visual library.
The working lives of hundreds of sculptors are captured in our rich and fascinating collections of photographs, letters, drawings and sketchbooks.
The archive is open by prior appointment only.
As space is limited and the archive is often busy, it is advisable to get in touch at least four weeks' prior to your preferred date to visit. Please contact the Archivist to discuss making an appointment.
To keep our visitors and staff as safe as possible, we are following current Covid secure guidance and implementing a range of new safety measures. In order to effectively manage the Galleries, Library and Archive, and allow for social distancing, we are limiting visitor numbers and are asking all visitors to book tickets in advance.
Tickets are free, and there are no restrictions of how long you can spend in the library, as long as you have pre-booked the corresponding timed tickets.
