This is a guide to Moore's sculptures on public display throughout the world. We strive to ensure that all information is accurate, however we recommend that you contact each venue before making a visit. Please also contact us if you spot any mistakes. In some instances it has not been possible to source an image of the actual sculpture in-situ, and on such occasions an alternative image has been used.
black marble

Black is a disappearing colour in nature; there is more black in a photograph because the light comes from the sky and gives black shadows down below. White is the most obtrusive colour. We have a small white cast of the ‘Square Form With Cut’ in one of the fields, and I have moved it because as you came in to the field you saw it first, and the white was an obtrusive colour… If you want something to disappear in nature, make it really dark. That is why I suggest all the pedestals for my sculpture should be darker than neutral grey.
