Emil Nolde meets Henry Moore

In 2017, for the first time in its history, Nolde Stiftung, the home and Foundation of the painter Emil Nolde will display the work of another artist - Henry Moore.

We are delighted to be working with Nolde Stiftung in 2017, the 150th anniversary of Nolde's birth, to present the first exhibition of another artist at his former home in Seebull, Germany.

The home and Foundation of the painter Emile Nolde, with its beautiful gardens, is a perfect counterpart to the Henry Moore Studios and Gardens in Perry Green.  Four of Moore’s celebrated sculptures will be presented in Nolde’s garden. An exploration of landscape, nature and the human figure was central to the work of both artists and the landscape of North Friesland provides an exciting new context for Moore’s sculpture.

A new catalogue will accompany the exhibition, with extensive illustrations and new research into both artists.

At the same time, only a few miles across the border at the Kunstmuseet i Tønder, Denmark, a further exhibition Henry Moore - at the border to the North will further examine the work of Moore, Nolde and others.
