Henry Moore Studios & Gardens

Henry Moore Studios & Gardens is the work-place and family home of 20th century sculptor Henry Moore: with over 70 acres of sculpture gardens & rolling fields. Each year our sculpture gardens display over 20 of Moore's world-famous, monumental sculptures; showcasing his work as he intended, against the landscape he shaped.

Opening dates 2022

Our sculpture gardens are now closed for the winter. We plan to reopen on Friday 1 April 2022, when we will also launch a new exhibition Henry Moore: The Sixties which presents a fascinating insight into Moore's life and work during a pivotal decade of his career.

1 April to 30 October 2022
Wednesdays to Sundays and Bank Holidays, 11am-5pm

What to expect when you visit

Since the start of the coronvirus pandemic, we have implemented lots of new measures to make sure that visiting is safe for everyone. We expect to continue with some of our safety measures in 2022 and will update this information regularly.

Please continue to wear a face mask in all of our buildings

You can find more details about the measures we have put in place on our Coronavirus information page.

  • To help us manage queues and keep everyone safe, please book your visit in advance (if possible).
  • Please try to arrive within your 30 minute time slot.
  • Please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, have been asked to isolate, have tested positive for Covid 19 or are awaiting the results of a test.
  • Please continue to wear face masks in our indoor spaces. Face masks are now mandatory in all shops.
  • There will still be a lot of signs around our site, to help manage visitor numbers and allow comfortable distancing.
  • We will keep visitor limits in some of our smaller indoor spaces.
  • Some staff will be wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Please pay with contactless credit or debit card where possible.

Please note, while we welcome all badged assistance dogs, pet dogs are not permitted in the sculpture gardens and may not be left in vehicles in our car parks.

Cafe and picnics

We have a airy, spacious cafe in the visitor centre, serving a range of cakes, savoury snacks, hot and cold drinks.

Following the latest government guidance, the cafe has returned to a counter service, with seating outside overlooking the sculpture gardens and a small number of indoor tables. Please follow the signs and queue markings and wear a face covering when inside the visitors centre.

You are also welcome to bring your own food and drink to the gardens. Picnic areas are available near the Henry Moore Archive and Large Figure in a Shelter, these are frequently cleaned and sanitised.  Please don’t picnic at the café tables or in the sculpture gardens.

Gift shop

Our gift shop, with an exclusive range of Henry Moore gifts and books, is located within the visitor centre. While we are closed for winter, you can still shop online and arrange home delivery, or collection from our reception desk in Perry Green, Hertfordshire.
