Our Sculpture Research Library and Archive of Sculptors' Papers provide a unique resource for the study of sculpture.
The extensive library collections at the Henry Moore Institute cover sculpture internationally, with a particularly strong focus on British artists.
You can browse our holdings of books, journals and ephemera in our beautifully designed reading rooms, or view recordings of lectures and gallery events in our audio-visual library.
The working lives of hundreds of sculptors are captured in our rich and fascinating collections of photographs, letters, drawings and sketchbooks.
The archive is open by prior appointment only.
As space is limited and the archive is often busy, it is advisable to get in touch at least four weeks' prior to your preferred date to visit. Please contact the Archivist to discuss making an appointment.
To keep our staff and visitors safe and make sure you have an enjoyable experience, we have decided to keep social distancing and some other covid safety measures in place until further notice. These include reduced capacity, sanitising stations on site and increased levels of hygiene standards. We would appreciate visitors continuing to wear masks when this is possible.
Booking tickets to visit our galleries is no longer necessary, though we advise groups of six or more book in advance to make sure there is space for you all to visit the galleries at the same time. You can still book in advance to visit the Sculpture Research Library if you want to ensure a space is available at the time of your choosing.
