Peter Shelton: godspipes | blackelephanthouse

Description

Published as part of artranspennine98, Peter Shelton is one of a number of artists who contributed to the resurgence of interest in art about the body in the early 1980s.

This catalogue documents two works, godspipes, made up of one hundred and eighty-eight translucent fibreglass and lead forms which resemble fragments of the human body; and blackelephanthouse, a monumental form combining sculpture and architecture.

With a foreword by Declan McGonagle (Director, Irish Museum of Modern Art) and Robert Hopper (Director, Henry Moore Sculpture trust), and an essay by Christopher Knight, 'bodyknowledge'.
