Harlow Gibberd Gallery - Artists' Sketchbook Workshop
This workshop took place in Harlow on Wednesday 18th August. to accompany Henry Moore: Sheep.
The Gibberd Gallery ran an evening adult workshop where participants learnt to create their own hard-back sketchbook following a tour of the exhibition, and also made their own sketches and lino prints.
Sketchbooks are a major part of an artist's work, as they often provide a starting point for ideas to emerge and develop. Henry Moore produced a number of these throughout his career and believed that drawing taught 'ones eyes to see more intensely'. One of his most loved sketchbooks is the Sheep Sketchbook 1972, full of Moore's observations of sheep outside his studio at Perry Green. Many of these sketches were developed into the series of sheep prints which were on exhibition at The Gibberd Galley in Harlow.
