Textile Printing

Pine Class

Printed cushion covers

During the 1940s Henry Moore collaborated with Zika Ascher to create vibrant textile designs using simple motifs and bright colours, which were screen printed on to dress and furnishing fabrics as well as silk scarves.

Inspired by their found objects, Pine Class made printing blocks and considered how to use them to create a repeat pattern for fabric in various colourways. The finished designs were printed on to cushion covers. The Foundation staff also demonstrated silk screen printing to illustrate how Moore produced his textiles.
