Figure in a Setting
Lime Class

Clay standing figure in a landscape
Moore considered the setting of his sculpture to be as important as the work itself and he preferred to site his work in the landscape rather than in front of a building. The vast landscapes that he selected suited the monumentality of his work, particularly as the inspiration often came from natural objects.
Lime Class created a maquette by adding clay to their found object. They photographed their work and tried it in various settings using digital technology and then went on to make a three dimensional setting from a shoebox, using modroc, paints and collage.
