By Public Transport

The Henry Moore Institute is situated next to Leeds City Art Gallery in the heart of the city centre and is a few minutes’ walk from Leeds Station.

Leeds is 200 miles north of London, and the train journey normally takes around 2 hours 20 minutes from London’s King’s Cross station.

Information for visitors with limited mobility and wheelchair users:

There is an accessible lift from Cookridge Street to the ground floor reception area. Visitors with wheelchairs can access all parts of the gallery on the ground floor. We regret that there is no access other than via the bridge to exhibitions in the Sculpture Studies Gallery in Leeds Art Gallery. Photos are available at Reception for visitors wishing to view the current Sculpture Studies Gallery exhibition. There is a passenger lift to all floors within the Henry Moore Institute.

There is a disabled toilet situated at the basement level next to the lift.

There are benches and chairs spread throughout the galleries and all stairs have handrails.

There is an automatic door at the front entrance to the Institute, the bridge-link entrance and in the Library.

Information for visitors who are visually impaired:

Guide dogs are welcome in the gallery and a water bowl can be provided on request (please ask at Reception). The nearest green space is Park Square.

Braille and large print versions of exhibition literature (panels and leaflets) are available in the galleries.

Because all the works on display are on loan, it is not usually possible to touch objects in the exhibitions. If permission is granted it is usually at the discretion of the curator and visitors must be accompanied by an Information Assistant.

There is large print signage in the Library.

Key turners for Library lockers and support equipment for Library users accessing video/audio materials are available from Library Reception.

Information for visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing:

There are induction loops at the main Reception desk, Library Reception and Seminar Room. There is a portable induction loop available for visitors to use in the galleries (please ask at Reception).

Disabled parking

The Institute does not have its own parking facilities. There are three disabled parking bays near to the entrance of the Institute on Cookridge Street.
