The Henry Moore Institute is situated on The Headrow, in Leeds city centre's cultural hub.
The Institute in Leeds is known internationally for its wide-ranging programme. Its exhibitions vary from historic to contemporary sculpture, as does its active research programme.
As well as managing a specialist library, the Institute curates the British sculpture and archive collections of Leeds Museums & Galleries.
Galleries open Tuesday - Sunday: 11am - 5.30pm
Research Library open:
Monday - Saturday: 10am - 5.30pm
Sundays: 1 - 5pm
All Galleries and the Research Library stay open until 8pm on Wednesdays.
Please note that the Archive will be closed between 4 November and 2 January for a conservation study.
Our exhibitions in Galleries 1, 2 & 3 and the Upper Sculpture Study Gallery change every three months, with our next exhibitions opening on 21 November. The Research Library, Gallery 4 and the sculpture collection galleries are open as usual.
Collections Exhibitions held in Leeds Art Gallery:
Monday - Tuesday: 10am - 5pm
Wednesday: 12pm - 5pm
Thursday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm
Sunday: 1pm - 5pm
Leeds Art Gallery will usually begin closing procedures at around 4.45pm.
As our Sculpture Study Galleries exhibitions are located in the Leeds Art Gallery building, they are not accessible after 5pm (except on Wednesdays when all our galleries stay open until 8pm), or on Sunday before 1pm. The Sculpture Study Galleries are closed on Mondays in line with the Institute's galleries.
Christmas opening times:
Monday 23 - Thursday 26 December - closed
Friday 27 - Sunday 29 December - open as usual
Monday 30 December - Wednesday 1 January - closed
Normal opening hours resume on Thursday 2 January.
