Online Database of the Biographical Dictionary of Sculptors in Britain 1660-1851

The database contains all of the information included in Roscoe, Hardy and Sullivan A Biographical Dictionary of Sculptors in Britain 1660-1851 (Published for the Paul Mellon Centre and Henry Moore Foundation by Yale 2009). It also includes additional information: an expanded bibliography, new sculptors, new biographical details about sculptors, and new works.
The database contains over 3000 Biographies, and a full list of known Works for each sculptor. There is a Bibliography of over 3000 entries. The lives are searchable by name and keywords. The Works section - which contains details of over 30,000 works - is searchable by multiple categories including name, subject matter, dates, material, location, and payment. The bibliography of over 3000 publications and manuscripts can be searched by authors, titles, and categories.
