Catalogue to the inaugural exhibition in the Sheep Field Barn in Perry Green.

The conversion of an agricultural barn to an environmentally controlled gallery allows for the display of Moore's carvings and works on paper for the first time at Perry Green, providing a balance to the monumental bronzes sited in the grounds. This exhibition highlights Moore's lifetime achievement in carving. Key pieces from the Foundation's collection, spanning sixty years of the artist's work, have been selected to demonstrate his versatility with a wide range of materials - from elmwood to ironstone. Enhancing the carvings are a number of early sketches and drawings in which Moore first explored the sculptural ideas that maintained his interest throughout his career.
