"This has been an exciting collaboration and we are delighted with the results. Paul Smith has used Moore's work sensitively, to great and long-lasting effect."
Richard Calvocoressi, Director, The Henry Moore Foundation
The Henry Moore Foundation has collaborated with leading British designer Paul Smith on a collection of accessories and clothing, providing unprecedented access to Moore's remarkable graphics, drawings and sculpture archive at the artist's former estate and sculpture grounds in Hertfordshire.
The resulting Autumn Winter 2011 line uses imagery from Moore's original artworks on Paul Smith clothing and accessories.
"I have always been a fan of Henry Moore and this is the first time a contemporary designer has been granted permission to make use of his prints and drawings on clothing. I was most privileged to visit the Henry Moore archive to select the drawings I wanted to use." Paul Smith
The collection includes a man's leather billfold wallet, weekend bag, ladies' handbag and clutch bag, ties, scarves, and a range of clothing.
The Paul Smith & Henry Moore collection goes in store in August 2011 and some pieces are already available at the Foundation's Perry Green visitor centre and on its website http://www.henry-moore.org/hmf/shop. Visitor information for Perry Green is at www.henry-moore.org/pg.
