New Head for Henry Moore Institute
Lisa Le Feuvre appointed Head of Sculpture Studies

The Henry Moore Foundation is delighted to announce that leading curator and academic Lisa Le Feuvre is to be the new Head of Sculpture Studies of the Henry Moore Institute, taking up the post in autumn 2010. The Leeds-based Institute is a world-recognised centre for the study of sculpture.
Lisa, who is currently co-curating British Art Show 7: In the Days of the Comet with Tom Morton, has an exceptional range of curatorial, lecturing and writing experience.
As well as being Senior Lecturer in the Department of Art on the postgraduate Curating Programme at Goldsmiths, Lisa has taught at numerous academic organisations, including Chelsea School of Art and Design, Royal College of Art, Sotheby's Institute, Birkbeck College, San Francisco Art Institute and Städelschule, among many others. She has given public lectures at arts organisations that include Camden Arts Centre, ICA, London, Flat Time House, London; Harris Museum, Preston; Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel; Muzeum Sztuki, Lódz, Poland; Serpentine Gallery, London, Whitechapel Gallery, London and Tate.
Between 2005 and 2009 Lisa directed the contemporary art programme at the National Maritime Museum, London working with artists Renee Green, Lawrence Weiner, Simon Patterson, Esther Shalev-Gerz, Dan Holdsworth and Jeremy Millar. Lisa's other curatorial projects have been staged in spaces across the UK, including the CCA, Glasgow; The Photographers' Gallery, London; MOT, London; Stills, Edinburgh; and Arts Council England National Office where she has worked with artists including Gordon Matta-Clark, Dennis Oppenheim, Alexander & Susan Maris and Joachim Koester.
Lisa is the editor of the forthcoming book Failure for the Whitechapel / MIT Press Documents of Contemporary Art series and has written countless publication essays, including the soon-to-be-published Staging / Object / Film in Sculpture and Film, edited by Ian Christie and Jon Wood of The Henry Moore Foundation.

The Henry Moore Institute is open year round, seven days a week, free of charge. Its next major exhibition is Hermann Obrist: Art Nouveau Sculptor (3 June - 29 August). As well as staging exhibitions and managing an important sculpture study library, the Institute, in partnership with Leeds City Council, looks after the sculpture collections and archive of its next-door-neighbour, Leeds Art Gallery.
