Introducing Lesley Wake
14th December 2011

Lesley Wake joins the Foundation from Arts and Business
She replaces Colonel Charles M Joint, who retires after 16 years of exceptional service.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lesley Wake as our new Chief Operating Officer. Lesley will be based at our headquarters in Perry Green, Hertfordshire, on the artist's former estate. She will support Director Richard Calvocoressi managing activities there, at the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, and worldwide.
Her appointment comes as Colonel Charles M. Joint, the Foundation's Head of Finance and Administration, retires after 16 years in post. He will be much missed.
Lesley Wake is currently Chief Operating Officer and Director of Arts Development at Arts & Business.
She held regional directorate posts at Arts & Business from 2000 - 2006, and before that was Chief Executive at Watermans Arts Centre in Brentford and Deputy Director of Riverside Studios in London. She is currently a Trustee of the Sussex Community Foundation, and a former Trustee and Chair of the Actors Touring Company and London Arts Alliance, among others.
Lesley also spent time as Centre Administrator of Jackson's Lane Community Centre in London, at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk, and as part of Tyne and Wear Museums Service.
Duncan Robinson, Chair of the Trustees of The Foundation said: "Lesley's appointment is excellent news for The Foundation, and the Trustees are delighted that she is joining us. She succeeds Charles Joint, whose indefatigable efforts in managing our financial and administrative activities in the last 16 years deserve the highest praise. He will be much missed, and we wish him well in his retirement."
Richard Calvocoressi, Director of The Foundation said: 'The Foundation's staff in Hertfordshire and Leeds join me in welcoming Lesley. We all look forward to working with her to maximise the impact of Moore's exceptional legacy, and its continued benefits to sculpture worldwide.'
On learning of her appointment Lesley said: 'I am thrilled to be joining the Henry Moore Foundation at this exciting time. I am looking forward to working with Richard Calvocoressi and the teams in Perry Green and at the Institute in Leeds to help make a real and lasting difference to the Foundation and its work.'
Lesley takes up her post in February 2012.
