Our Image Archive collection contains thousands of photographs of Moore's artworks, but also a vast collection of images of the works being installed, both at Perry Green and on exhibition. We still collect images of each installation we make today.
Archive Image - What not to wear when moving large sculptures! This image taken in the grounds at Perry Green, c.1965 shows Moore's assistant Ron Robertson-Swan helping foreman Frank Farnham to move Family Group, 1948-49, bronze, (LH 269) into place. Luckily Foundation staff no longer just wear flip flops and a sun hat when installing works. Thankfully Personal Protection Equipment has moved on and we take great care to protect the work and ourselves during the process - especially when a monumental sculpture is being moved via crane overhead!
Moore's Family Group 1948-49 bronze (LH 269) is currently on display in the grounds at Perry Green.
