There are over 100,000 letters and documents in the archive, which reflect the life and work of Henry Moore.
From the 1950s Henry Moore employed full time secretarial help, notably Tam Miller and Mrs Betty Tinsley (in the photograph above). Moore would work during the day and come into the office to deal with paperwork after tea at 4pm Photo: the Henry Moore Archive
These include early letters; a diverse collection of material ranging from correspondence with galleries, architects and collectors; to documentation with foundries, shipping and other specialists.
If you wish to research the letters archive please contact the Archive team to make an appointment. Most of the Letters Archive can be viewed digitally in the Reading Room, by appointment. Letters and correspondence currently can not be searched via the online Archive catalogue.
